Sandy Creek tanks: Kalperri Road
Water infrastructure works at Sandy Creek
Construction is now underway on two new 10 million litre above-ground water storage tanks, a new control valve building, and an underground trunk main connecting the tanks to the existing Barossa Trunk Main.
These upgrades will enhance network resilience, improve operability, and ensure reliable water services for current and future customers in the area.
For details about electrical connection to the tanks site, visit SA Power Networks.
Where we’re working
(See map below for details)
- The storage tanks are being built on secured land on the eastern side of Kalperri Road, approximately halfway between the Barossa Valley Highway and Balmoral Road in Sandy Creek.
- Water mains pipes are being installed from the tank site to the railway line near Barossa Valley Way within the land east of Kalperri Road. Pipes will then cross under Kalperri Road and continue on private land through to Kalbeeba Road.
- Pipes are also being laid from the southern side of the tanks along the paddock boundary, continuing north to the end of Warner Court.

What to expect
- Changed traffic arrangements will be in place across the area until 2026
- You may notice some noise, vibration and dust during construction
- We’ll continue working closely with the community to minimise impacts wherever possible
Please note: Timeline dates are subject to change based on program requirements and weather conditions.
What happens to roads and footpaths after our works?
We work closely with the local council and follow all required reinstatement obligations, reinstating the parts of the road, footpath or the environment directly impacted by our works.
Find out more about reinstatement

As part of this major upgrade, other nearby works are also happening on:
