What’s next

Together with our contractors BMD Construction, we are commencing preparation works to enable the installation of new water infrastructure along Parkers Road and the verge (refer Map 1).

A temporary site compound is being established at the corner of Parkers Road and Nottle Road to provide offices, amenities and parking for staff, as well as lay-down areas for machinery and construction materials.

Preparation works will commence on Tuesday 14 July in the verge on the southern side of Parkers Road, between Kentish Road and Nottle Road. Works will be undertaken in stages along this section and will involve machinery such as vacuum trucks and excavators. Traffic controllers and stop/slow speed traffic managements will be in place at each work area to help ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians and workers.

Main construction works are expected to commence in late August to early September and will progress in short sections to minimise disruption to road users, residents and businesses. These works involve installing pipes using open trench construction methods within the road.

To complete each section as quickly as possible, works will be carried out under road closures between intersections, with detours in place and local access maintained where possible. Once a section is finished, it will be temporarily backfilled and reopened to traffic beforecrews move on to the next section.

Construction is expected to be complete by mid-2027.

What to expect

We understand construction works can be disruptive, and we are committed to keeping you informed throughout the project.

• Working hours are 7.00am -5.00pm, Monday to Friday

• You may notice some noise, vibration, dust or mud. Water trucks and street sweepers will be used where practicable to minimise impacts, however some dust or mud may be unavoidable, particularly during very dry or wet weather

• To keep everyone safe while we complete these essential works, traffic management controls will be in place at times, including speed restrictions, temporary lane closures, or full road closures with detours
• Equipment and materials may be stored within work zones overnight to reduce truck movements and allow work to start promptly each day
• Access for nearby properties, emergency services, and essential services will be maintained throughout the works

• We will contact you directly if the works are expected to directly impact on your property and will work with you to put temporary arrangements in place where possible

• All works will follow relevant safety and environmental standards to ensure the safety or residents and workers
