Upgrading our water network in Curtis Road and surrounds

To support reliable water services for existing and future customers in Angle Vale, we’re installing approximately 4.4 kilometres of new water mains along Curtis Road and surrounding streets.

Works started in March 2025, with activity taking place along the main corridor and in nearby verges and parallel streets. A new wastewater main will also be installed along Curtis Road between Andrews Road and President Avenue.

This upgrade is an important part of strengthening the network and supporting growth in the area.

Water and wastewater pipe installation works will take place along or across the following locations:

  • Craigmore Road
  • Curtis Road
  • Across Main North Road
  • Gardiner Terrace
  • Across Charlotte Street
  • Coventry Road
  • Greenwood Crescent
  • Hodby Crescent
  • Across Peachey Road
  • Davison Crescent
  • Across Featherstone Street

What to expect

  • Changed traffic arrangements will be in place along Curtis Road and surrounding streets until early 2026
  • Work may take place during the day, at night or on weekends to help maintain schedule and minimise disruption
  • You may notice some noise, vibration and dust during construction
  • We’ll continue working closely with the community to minimise impacts wherever possible
  • If you're directly affected, we’ll provide advance notice and work closely with residents, businesses, and road users before and during construction.

Please note: Timeline dates are subject to change based on program requirements and weather conditions.

What happens to roads and footpaths after our works?

We work closely with the local council and follow all required reinstatement obligations, reinstating the parts of the road, footpath or the environment directly impacted by our works.

    When: Monday 8 September until mid September 2025

    Where:Curtis Road, between Featherstone Street and Stebonheath Road

    Hours of work: 7.00 pm – 6.00 am, Sunday to Friday

    Key details:

    • The westbound lane on Curits Road will be closed between Featherstone Steet and Stebonheath Road (eastbound lane will remain open).
    • Detours will be in place – please follow signage onsite.
    • Changed traffic conditions apply during night works (7:00 pm to 6:00 am).
    • Outside of night works, the road will remain open with speed restrictions.
    • Local and business access will be maintained at all times.
    • Some noise, vibration and dust is expected during these works.
    • To reduce the overall construction time of essential wastewater and water upgrades, work will occur in multiple locations along Curtis Road.

    Essential wastewater and water upgrades on Curtis Road are progressing well and remain on schedule for completion by early 2026.

    Day works are continuing on Andrews Road near Curtis Road.

    Night works are continuing on Curtis Road near Leicester Grove, with an additional crew starting at Featherstone Street from early September, progressing towards Andrews Road.

    When: July until early 2026

    Where: Curtis Road, between Featherstone Street and Andrews Road.

    Hours of work: 6:00 pm – 6:00 am, Sunday to Friday

    Key details:

    • to reduce the overall construction time, work will occur in multiple locations along Curtis Road
    • sections of Curtis Road will be closed to traffic at night from Sunday to Friday
    • changed traffic conditions will apply during night works
    • outside of night works, the road will remain open with speed restrictions
    • intermittent day works on the verge will restrict pedestrian access
    • detours will be in place – please follow signage on site

    • Northbound lane closure: Thursday 11 September – Sunday 14 September 2025

    Where: Peachey Road, southern side of the Curtis Road and Peachey Road intersection, across both northbound and southbound lanes.

    Hours of work: 7:00 pm – 6:00 am, Sunday to Friday

    Key details:

    • Southbound and northbound lane closures will be required on Peachey Road between Curtis Road and Crittenden Road.
    • Detours will be in place – please follow signage on site.
    • Local and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
