Upgrading our water network in Curtis Road and surrounds

To support reliable water services for existing and future customers in Angle Vale, we’re installing approximately 4.4 kilometres of new water mains along Curtis Road and surrounding streets.

Works started in March 2025, with activity taking place along the main corridor and in nearby verges and parallel streets. A new wastewater main will also be installed along Curtis Road between Andrews Road and President Avenue.

This upgrade is an important part of strengthening the network and supporting growth in the area.

Water and wastewater pipe installation works will take place along or across the following locations:

  • Craigmore Road
  • Curtis Road
  • Across Main North Road
  • Gardiner Terrace
  • Across Charlotte Street
  • Coventry Road
  • Greenwood Crescent
  • Hodby Crescent
  • Across Peachey Road
  • Davison Crescent
  • Across Featherstone Street

What to expect

  • Changed traffic arrangements will be in place along Curtis Road and surrounding streets until early 2026
  • Work may take place during the day, at night or on weekends to help maintain schedule and minimise disruption
  • You may notice some noise, vibration and dust during construction
  • We’ll continue working closely with the community to minimise impacts wherever possible
  • If you're directly affected, we’ll provide advance notice and work closely with residents, businesses, and road users before and during construction.

What happens to roads and footpaths after our works?

We work closely with the local council and follow all required reinstatement obligations, reinstating the parts of the road, footpath or the environment directly impacted by our works.

    Key details:

    • Curtis Road will be closed between Charlotte Street and Samuel Street during working hours
    • detours will be in place – please follow signage onsite
    • local and pedestrian access will be maintained at all times
    • changed traffic conditions apply during night works (7:00pm to 6:00am)


    When: Sunday to Friday nights, 7:00 pm – 6:00 am, from Sunday 22 June until early July 2025.

    Where: Curtis Road, between Charlotte Street and Samuel Street.

    From mid-July until late August, works will occur on Curtis Road between President Avenue and Leicester Grove. Works will then move west along Curtis Road.

    When: Mid -July until late August

    Where: Curtis Road between President Avenue to Leicester Grove

    Hours of work: 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, Sunday to Friday (night works)

    Key details:

    • works will progressively move west along Curtis Road
    • at times you may be aware of a temporary odour
    • local and business access will be maintained at all times
    • traffic changes will be in place, please follow the detour signage on-site
    • works are also occurring on Andrews Road moving north.

    • to maintain traffic flow through the intersection, a contraflow traffic arrangement will be used during both day and night works
    • business access will be maintained at all times

    Hours of work: 7.00pm - 5.00am (night works only)

    Where: Main North Road, at the intersection with Craigmore Road and Curtis Road

    All turning movements (left and right turns) will be maintained


    Northbound lane

    When: Friday 20 June to Monday 23 June

    Time: 7.00pm - 5.00am (night works only)

    No right turns into Craigmore Road
