We will soon be installing approximately 820 metres of new wastewater main in Waitpinga Road and Bay Road at Encounter Bay. This work will support the new Seascape housing development on Waitpinga Road and service nearby vacant land when it is developed in future.
Works will involve careful excavation, within a tight work area, of trenches up to 4.5 metres deep. For the protection of our crew and the community Waitpinga Road, between Whalers Road and Tabernacle Road, will be closed during construction hours.
What to expect
Stage 1 – Waitpinga Road (night works)
Construction is planned to start 25th August 2024 and will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.
During construction:
Waitpinga Road will be closed to traffic between Whalers Road and Tabernacle Road, Sunday nights to Thursday nights 7 pm – 7 am.
Traffic management and suggested detours will be in place - please refer to map below
Construction dates, once finalised, will be subject to weather conditions and any technical constraints we may encounter.
Stage 2 – Bay Road (day works)
Construction is planned to start Mid-September and will take approximately 4-6 weeks to complete.
During construction:
Works will take place 7am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Sections of Bay Road may be closed off with detours in place.
You will receive an additional letter when access to your driveway may be impacted.
Your wastewater services will not be impacted.
