Together with McConnell Dowell Diona Joint Venture (MDJV), we are constructing a new 1.8- kilometre underground water pipe between Potts Road and Alexander Avenue, Evanston Park. This new pipeline will connect to the Barossa Trunk Main which supplies water to the area, and will improve water reliability for the area now and into the future.

When is it happening

Works will begin in early December 2024 and are expected to be completed by mid-2025. Works will typically be Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 6pm.

The start and duration of works are dependent on weather conditions and any technical constraints we may encounter. We will endeavour to complete the works as quickly as possible, with minimal impact to the community.

What you need to know

The work site office will be set up at the SA Water Tank site, on West Down Rd. Vehicle movements to be expected around this area.

As with any infrastructure project, some inconvenience to neighbouring residents is inevitable, and we assure you we are committed to minimising any potential impacts. There will be noise associated with our construction works as we are trenching through roads and reserves. There will be machinery and truck movements associated with this.

Temporary Road Closures and Driveway Impacts

Localised traffic management will be in place to provide a safe environment for our crews and the community, so please allow more time if traveling through the area.

Should we require any road closures, they will be temporary with access maintained for residents. If we need to restrict property access, we will inform impacted residents beforehand.

We will be installing an above-ground valve at Helen Street Reserve to ensure you continue to receive a reliable water service. This valve will allow water to flow from different parts of our network during unplanned events like major pipe breaks or other network issues, improving your water supply.

    What you need to know

The valve will be installed above ground in Helen Street Reserve and be housed inside a fence.

As with any infrastructure project, you may notice some noise whilst our crews work, as heavy machinery and equipment will be used. We are mindful of surrounding residents and will make every effort to reduce noise and light disturbances where possible. No interruption to your water or wastewater services is expected, if this changes we will let you know. Please be assured that we are committed to keeping construction impacts to a minimum.

    When is it happening

The installation will occur between 11th April for approximately three weeks, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Subject to weather conditions and any technical restraints we encounter.
