Fleurieu water supply upgrade

We will soon begin to upgrade water infrastructure on the South Coast. The improvements will support increased water demand, allow for population growth and improve water reliability.

The upgrade will see an extra 1.5 kilometres of pipeline installed alongside an existing pipeline that runs along the northern side of Waterport Road. No interruption to your water services is expected throughout these works, however if there is a need to temporarily disrupt your service, we will give you 4 business days' notice.

What to expect

Construction is due to commence at then end of March 2024 and is planned to take approximately 5 - 6 months.

During construction both lanes of Waterport Road, between Lincoln Road and Hill Street, will be:

• closed to traffic on weekdays from the end of March to September 2024 (except April school holidays)
• open to traffic on weekends, public holidays and during the April school holidays, Saturday 13 April – Sunday 28 April.

Traffic management including a detour and speed restrictions will be in place 7 am to 5 pm on road closure days. Speed restrictions will also apply when the roads are open to traffic during the construction period. Residents and businesses in the road closure area will be provided with access to their properties at all times.
