Enjoying recreational activities at Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve will be a great way for people to spend time with family and friends outdoors.
Access to green open spaces brings a range of benefits, and with the opening of Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve, there will be new areas to enjoy and explore in your neighbourhood.
As an interested community member, we’d like to work with you as we progress the State Government initiative to open Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve to land and water-based recreational activity in December this year.
The concept plan for recreational access at Happy Valley was led by a cross-agency Opening Up Our Reservoirs Taskforce and was shaped with the help of the local community, through a Community Reference Group, and environmental and recreation group representatives.
Their input helped shape a community-led master plan for the site, which combines adventure, fun and environmental preservation for a wonderful visitor experience.
Current status
The concept plan for the first phase of recreational access at Happy Valley Reservoir Reserve has been released, so you can have a first look at the vision for what it will look like when its open to the public.
Construction of new visitor facilities will soon be underway, which will include car park access points and multiple pedestrian gates.
How to engage
We encourage you to take our quick poll on preferred recreation activities you’d like to see within the reservoir reserve, the survey on what’s most important to you when we consider public access to the reservoir reserve, and to contribute your ‘ideas’ to our interactive map below.
