Gawler Tank Upgrade
SA Water is upgrading the Gawler Tank, a vital part of the local water supply network that has served the Gawler-Virginia community for over a century. Originally constructed in 1907, the 1.268 ML concrete tank has reached the end of its operational life. To ensure ongoing reliable water services, we are replacing the existing structure with a modern 3ML tank at the same location on Calton Road, Gawler East.
The new tank will enhance the capacity and resilience of the water supply, benefiting 6,200 customers in the region. This project involves safely demolishing the existing tank, upgrading associated infrastructure, and constructing a durable new tank to meet current and future needs. Once completed, the upgraded tank will continue to play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable drinking water to the community.
What to expect:
Traffic Management
A detour will be in place for the duration of the works. Barossa Avenue will be closed to through traffic, with access permitted for Barossa Avenue residents only.
