Road closure - Schomburgk Drive, Gawler East
To safely connect the new Springwood booster pump station to the existing water network, we're installing a new water main along Schomburgk Drive. To complete the works safely and reduce the overall construction time, Schomburgk Drive will be closed to through traffic 24/7.
When: Tuesday 6 October to Friday 30 October 2026
Where: Schomburgk Drive, between the roundabout at Riggs Road and Gawler-One Tree Hill Road, and Mullamar Way, Gawler East
Hours: The road will be closed 24/7 for the duration of the works
Key details:
- Schomburgk Drive will be closed in both directions for the entire duration of the works, including overnight
- Springwood Plaza access will be maintained at all times via Mullamar Way
- property access will be maintained throughout the works, and we will contact you directly beforehand if your driveway is affected
- detours will be in place, please follow the signage and directions from traffic controllers onsite
- please allow extra travel time.
What happens next
Schomburgk Drive is scheduled to reopen on Friday 30 October. Works will then continue in the eastbound lane between the carpark ramp and Mullamar Way, with 24/7 shuttle flow traffic managed by traffic lights. The ramp at the rear of the Springwood Plaza carpark will remain closed during this stage.
