Myponga Reservoir Reserve: For the safety of visitors and our people, while trucks are frequently using roads within the reserve during the enhancement works, the Kestral and Lapwing Loops will be partially closed to walkers, runners and cyclists.

Access to the temporary deep-water access area and associated car parking area is temporarily closed due to the wet conditions causing vehicle tracks to become unsafe.

Public access is restricted to sections of the trails adjacent the reservoir, and we ask you to follow all on-site signage.

The Hanson Street and Pink Gum Hub car parks remain open, and kayaks can be launched from the shore at the Pink Gum Hub. See latest updates on our Reservoirs SA socials.

Tod Reservoir Reserve: Until further notice, the lookout at the Tod Reservoir Reserve will be closed to visitors on weekdays (Monday to Friday). The museum car park and picnic area will remain open.

This is to ensure public safety whilst we undertake upgrade works to establish recreational fishing at Tod for the first time.

Subject to weather conditions, the lookout will reopen each Saturday and Sunday, between the usual opening hours of sunrise and sunset.

Thank you for your patience while we undertake these important works.

Enhancing recreational activities – Myponga and Tod Reservoir Reserves

The success of providing recreational access at our reservoir reserves highlights the broader role water utilities can play in supporting the health and wellbeing of South Australian communities.

Recognising this, the State Government has committed to further expanding recreational opportunities at some of our reserves, including shoreline and on-water fishing.

We will be:

  • establishing expanded recreational fishing opportunities at Myponga Reserve on the Fleurieu Peninsula by enabling access to deeper water

  • establishing recreational fishing at Tod Reservoir on the Eyre Peninsula for the first time.

To support these activities, both sites will receive new visitor infrastructure including, toilets, shelters, picnic tables, signage, vehicle tracks, shared use trails and kayak launch areas.

Tod Reservoir will be stocked with appropriate fish species in collaboration with RecFish SA and the Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA).
