SA Water is constructing a new 9ML water tank in the industrial estate at Bordertown off Cannawigara Road. We will lay 2.5km of new pipeline to connect the new tank to the existing water supply network. This major work will ensure ongoing reliability of service by decreasing the length of water supply interruptions and will allow future growth opportunities for the town which have previously not been possible due to a lack of water supply. With increased capacity in the system, SA Water will be able to provide new water connections and allow for Tatiara Council’s 10-year projected growth plan.

The new tank will enhance the capacity and resilience of the water supply, benefiting 3000 customers in the region.

The newly constructed 9ML tank at Bordertown will be commissioned, operational and supplying water to the township in late 2027. Ancillary works on the project including connections to the existing elevated tank will then continue with final project completion scheduled for mid 2028.

Please see the timeline for more information on individual components of the construction timeframe.
