Upgrading our water and wastewater network on Curtis Road, Heaslip Road and surrounds

We’re investing in water and wastewater infrastructure along Curtis Road and Heaslip Road as part of a major network upgrade.

Curtis Road works include installing 2200 metres of wastewater mains between Andrews Road and Heaslip Road. Works are also happening on Curtis Road between Andrews Road and Stebonheath Road.

Heaslip Road works include installing 600 metres of new water and, 2200 metres of new wastewater mains from Curtis Rd moving progressively north.

This essential work is scheduled to begin in mid-march 2026 and to be completed by mid-2027.

This upgrade is an important part of strengthening the network and supporting growth in the area.

Where we’re working

Pipe installation works will take place along or across the following locations:

  • Heaslip Road and surrounding streets
  • Curtis Road (Angle Vale)
  • Across Northern Expressway
  • Curtis Road (Munno Para West)

What to expect

  • changed traffic arrangements will be in place along Curtis Road, Heaslip Road and surrounding streets until mid-2027
  • work may take place during the day, at night or on weekends to help maintain schedule and minimise disruption
  • you may notice some noise, vibration, and dust during construction
  • we will continue to work closely with the community to minimise impacts wherever possible
  • if you're directly affected, we’ll provide advance notice and work closely with residents, businesses, and road users before and during construction.

Please note: Timeline dates are subject to change based on program requirements and weather conditions.

What happens to roads and footpaths after our works?

We work closely with the local council and follow all required reinstatement obligations, reinstating the parts of the road, footpath or the environment directly impacted by our works.

New water and wastewater pipes installed beneath Curtis Road and Heaslip Road are on schedule and continuing to progress at pace.

    Heaslip Road update

We are preparing to turn the new water pipes on Heaslip Road during July to start supplying the local area. Wastewater pipes are continuing to be laid beneath Heaslip Road until the end of 2026.

Heaslip Road has been temporarily reinstated during our works. The permanent reinstatement of Heaslip Road, between Alicante Court and Plati Road, is scheduled for July. Permanent reinstatement for the rest of Heaslip Road will occur once works are completed. For the section of Heaslip Road, where water and wastewater pipes are installed close together, we will reinstate the full lane to ensure a smooth and consistent driving surface for commuters.

    Curtis Road reinstatement

Wastewater pipe installation along Curtis Road between the Northern Expressway and Andrews Road has been completed, and permanent road reinstatement is expected to be completed during July. Further wastewater pipe installation west of the Northern Expressway is due to commence in August.

About temporary and permanent reinstatement work

As a standard practice, we temporarily reinstate areas, such as roads and footpaths at the end of each shift to ensure the area is safe and accessible for commuters. This approach allows us to reopen the road for commuters as quickly as possible between shifts to minimise disruption while also enabling us to return to the same area if needed should any issues arise during pipe laying, testing or commissioning prior to permanent reinstatement.

Once pipes are installed and operational, we return to permanently reinstate areas affected by our works.

Final road reinstatement occurs at the completion of key sections of pipe installations and testing.

We appreciate the community’s patience while we deliver this critical infrastructure to support housing growth across Adelaide’s north.
