SA Water will soon begin important upgrades to the elevated water tank that supplies clean drinking water to the township of Swan Reach. Originally constructed in 1978, the tank has reached the end of its asset life. To ensure ongoing reliable water services, we are replacing the water tank with a new modern tank next to the existing location off Stott Highway. These improvements will help strengthen water supply and security for the community.

What’s involved:

- Building a new steel support structure next to the current tank

- Installing two new elevated water tanks, each holding 90,000 litres (total capacity: 180,000 litres)

- Removing the old tank and its support structure once the new system is ready

When's it happening:

Construction works are scheduled to begin January 2026 and are expected to be complete December 2026.

Standard construction hours will be 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

(If the weather makes working conditions unsafe, we might need to delay or change the days we work. We will do our best to advise you of any changes)

What to expect

No interruption to your water services is expected throughout this work. If this changes, we will let you know.

As with any infrastructure project, you may notice some noise or dust whilst our crews work, as heavy machinery and equipment will be used. We are mindful of surrounding residents and will make efforts to reduce noise and light disturbances where possible.

Keeping you informed

If you’d like to know more about these works, or have any questions, l encourage you to contact myself Stussi Dellis at project@sawater.com.au or on 1300 SA WATER.

We’re committed to keeping Swan Reach’s water supply safe and secure for years to come.

Thank you for your support while we carry out these upgrades.
