Consultation has concluded
As part of our work to protect and enhance the environment, we are exploring options for the possible use of recycled water from our Port Augusta East Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Across the state recycled water is used in different ways from several of our wastewater treatment plants, providing benefits for the community, industry and the environment.
We would like to hear your ideas on potential uses for recycled water from the Port Augusta East wastewater treatment plant via the survey below.
Opportunities to access recycled water are not limited to a single customer and could provide a sustainable benefit to a number of users. This is dependent on customer locations and uses for the recycled water.
The Port Augusta East Wastewater Treatment Plant is currently capable of supplying about 430 Megalitres (430 million litres) of recycled water each year. Some uses of recycled water may require additional treatment or construction of infrastructure to transfer and store the recycled water.
If you are interested in becoming a recycled water customer, we can provide further information on existing water quality at the treatment plant and discuss potential requirements for your suggested usage.
If you’d like to discuss further please contact Senior Stakeholder Engagement Adviser, Aaron Glossop on 7424 3195 or email aaron.glossop@sawater.com.au.
