Upgrading your water main – night works in Gumeracha
To ensure you continue to receive a reliable water supply, we will be installing a new section of water main, working along Albert Road and Torrens Valley Road, Gumeracha. To minimise impact to the community, trucks and bus services, these works will be undertaken at night.
Dates and Times
Construction works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 3rd August 2026 and will take approximately 12 weeks to complete. There will be periods of inactivity during this time.
Standard construction hours will be from 7pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. Reinstatement of work area will be undertaken after the completion of works. Please note the start and duration of these works are dependent on weather conditions and any technical constraints we may encounter.
Disruptions
We are committed to minimising any disruptions to nearby residents. Every effort will be made to reduce noise and light disturbance where possible, especially given the use of heavy machinery and equipment.
To keep our crews and the community safe, there will be temporary traffic management in place. A contraflow will allow traffic and buses to be permitted through. Please allow extra time when moving through the area. In the instance we need to temporarily restrict access to your driveway, our on-site crew will discuss this with you.
If a temporary interruption to your water supply is required, SA Water will provide customers with at least 4 days notice before the outage via delivery of a separate outage card. However, SA Water asks residents to plan ahead and have enough water set aside where possible.

Our crews will mobilise to site to prepare for the upcoming construction works, which will include potholing to locate underground services and bitumen cutting.
6 August - 3 September 2026: Construction works in progress
this is an upcoming stage for Gumeracha Water Main Relay
Construction work will begin at the corner of Torrens Valley Road and Randell Terrace, as we begin to install the new water main in the road. Works will continue progress east along Torrens Valley Road, towards the Big Rocking Horse.
