Project update - July 2026

Greyhound Road has been fully reinstated, with fencing now complete along the upgraded section. Delivered as part of the 7‑kilometre transfer pipeline constructed by Leed, the new road provides improved, all‑weather access to Murray’s Point and is already being used by the community.

Construction of the Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant continues under Acciona, with structural works, pipe installation, electrical and communications conduits, and site system upgrades progressing. Shipments of specialised equipment from Europe, Asia, the US, and New Zealand are arriving steadily, supporting ongoing activity across the site.

Marine infrastructure works led by McConnell Dowell have been slowed by hard granite rock beneath the seafloor, extending tunnel construction and requiring revision of the late‑2026 first‑water target. SA Water confirms drinking water security will not be affected, with groundwater allocations for 2026–27 sufficient to meet demand while marine works are completed.
