Project update - April 2026

Traffic management continues along St Andrews Drive while the terrestrial pipeline installed, with a single lane operating at Billy Lights Point to keep traffic moving safely. SA Power Networks has completed pole footings on Windsor Road and installed additional poles along the Greyhound Road easement to extend electricity to Billy Lights Point.

The 7‑kilometre transfer pipeline linking the desalination plant to the Northside Hill Tanks is now complete. Leed will reinstate bitumen on Proper Bay Road and Bluefin Road, while Greyhound Road remains closed until late May for reinstatement and testing before reopening as an improved all‑weather route.

Marine works are progressing, with the TBM Janette continuing her ocean‑floor drive. Once tunnelling is complete, intake and outfall pipes will be installed mid‑year, supported by two McConnell Dowell barges now stationed at Brennen’s Wharf.
