We’re upgrading water services in the Adelaide CBD along North Terrace and Rundle Road. Together with our contractor McConnell Dowell Diona joint venture, we’re constructing a new water main to improve the reliability of the water supply to properties in that area.

A new 941-metre trunk main will be installed along North Terrace between Frome Road and East Terrace, along Rundle Road between East Terrace and Dequetteville Terrace and through the eastern section of the Adelaide Park Lands.

Current status

Night construction works will start on Sunday July 18 at the Dequetteville Terrace, Botanic and Hackney Roads intersection. This will take place between 7pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday for one week. There will be a further week of night works at this intersection from mid-August.

Nearby, near the corner of Rundle Road and East Terrace, night construction works will also happen late July between 7pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday and will take approximately one week to complete. Some carpark spaces along Rundle Road will be used during these works.

Next steps

The project will take about three months to complete, subject to weather and ground conditions.

There will be traffic management in place through the work zones to ensure the safety of our work crew and the community, including reduced speed and lane access. We will be using heavy plant and equipment, so there will be some noise during construction although we aim to keep this to a minimum.
