Construction of the new water treatment facility in Marree is expected to begin in 2022 with customers receiving the new clean, safe drinking water supply before the end of the year.
We are currently undertaking site survey in preparation for geotechnical investigations in Marree.
In the meantime, the Desal plant is being constructed at our workshop in along with the container that will house it. Once construction works are completed, the new plant will be transported to Marree and installed in its permanent location.
We are working with local community representatives to plan construction in a way that minimises impacts and achieves positive associated outcomes for the local environment and community wellbeing.
To date we have met with members of the local community to discuss the works, offer updates, answer questions and gather suggestions.
Details of our next community engagement activities are in the right hand column of this page.
